The Healing Power of Home Starts with You

Dec 19, 2024

To our loyal supporters:

Imagine a warm, safe place where healing begins—a space where individuals facing chronic health conditions, including HIV, can find stability, hope, and support. With your help, this wish for the Holiday Season can become a reality for hundreds in our community.

At AVOL Kentucky, we believe housing is healthcare. Stable housing transforms lives, and your generosity makes it possible. Between now and the end of 2024, 100% of every donation will directly support housing assistance programs in 2025. These programs provide critical resources such as:

  • Rent and utility assistance
  • Emergency food, clothing, and hygiene care packages
  • Home cleaning supplies and household set-up for new beginnings

Why Your Gift Matters

For those living with HIV, stable housing can mean the difference between life and loss. Over 90% of individuals served by AVOL’s housing programs stay consistent with their medical care and medication adherence. This leads to better health outcomes, undetectable HIV levels, and zero risk of transmission—proving once again that a safe home is more than just shelter; it’s a foundation for health, hope, and dignity.

AVOL’s Commitment to Community

Since 1988, AVOL Kentucky has been dedicated to ending the stigma associated with HIV and other chronic health conditions. Every year, we serve over 325 individuals across Central and Eastern Kentucky with housing support and case management. Additionally, AVOL provides over 1,500 HIV tests and health screenings annually, connecting people to lifesaving care.

With decades of experience, we understand that vulnerable populations need more than housing—they need a community of support to build stability, reach their goals, and thrive.

How You Can Help

This holiday season, we invite you to give the gift of home. Visit www.avolgives.org to make your donation today and bring hope to someone in need.

We’re also collecting Winter Warming Items at our 1824 Hill Rise Drive location, Suite 100. Blankets, gloves, and other cold-weather essentials are welcome to help our neighbors stay warm this winter.

Together, we can create a Home for the Holidays for everyone in our community.

Wishing you and your loved ones a season of warmth, joy, and gratitude,

Jon Parker, Executive Director
AVOL Kentucky
